Children's Services

The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library seeks to provide the very best educational and recreational materials for families. Our professional staff selects materials with you in mind. We circulate many different types of materials including books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, books on CD, Playaways, Playaway Views, Playaway Launchpads, E-books, puzzles, puppets, flashcards, and kits for all ages.

We have organized our collection by age level and type for children from birth to age 12. We also have a parent/teacher collection with books to help explain difficult life concepts to children and books to assist teachers and parents. If you need help navigating our collections, please ask any of our staff. We are always happy to assist you. If we don’t have what you need, we can request it through the Search Ohio interlibrary loan service.

We provide customized services

Our staff is here to help you discover new materials. Whether you need help locating an item on the shelf or are looking for recommendations, we can help. You can call ahead to have us pull materials if you are running low on time. You can also fill out a Perfect Match request, and a Librarian will pull items with your child’s reading preferences in mind. If you are going on a trip we can put together a bag of library resources for you to take with you. We kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice for requests over 10 items.

We are tech savvy

We offer a wide variety of digital services, including streaming and downloadable music, movies, eBooks, audiobooks and magazines. If you need help accessing these services our staff is available to help. If you need in-depth help, please ask about our one-on-one tech help. We also integrate the use of technology into many of our programs.

Our computers are touch-screen and friendly for little hands that are just learning to use technology. We offer a number of educational databases for children through our website for use in the home and at the library. Our databases feature animated storybooks, tools for research and databases for learning about science, history and more.

Bring your group for a visit

Children’s groups like scouts or elementary classes can schedule special tours, book talks or technology instruction. Please schedule these visits with plenty of advance notice.
