How often are the lockers filled?
Lockers are filled twice daily, Monday through Saturday.

Why can’t I pick up my items at the locker immediately?
The library needs time to gather and process your items. If you need your hold quickly, please choose in-library pickup instead.

Should I return items to a locker?
No, do not return items in a locker. Please place all returns in the designated book return.

How long do I have to pick up my items?
When your hold is ready, you’ll receive a notification by phone, text, or email. You have seven days to pick it up.

What if I no longer want the item in my locker?
Please return unwanted items in the book return. Do not leave them in the locker. Once a locker door is closed, the system assumes the item is in your possession and checks it out to your account. 

To cancel a hold before pickup, call the Circulation Department at (330) 688-3295 ext. 3 during library hours.

Why are my holds in multiple lockers?
If you have more items than can fit in one locker, staff will use multiple lockers. Additionally, items loaded on different days may be placed in separate lockers.

The locker opened, but these are not my holds. What should I do?

  1. Check your account to confirm that your items are marked as Holds Ready for Pickup at SMF-MNLCKR.
  2. If there’s an issue, call the Circulation Department at (330) 688-3295 ext. 3 during library hours.
  3. Do not leave unwanted items in the locker. Instead, remove them and return them in the book return so we can correct the error.

Some of my holds are missing - where are they?

  1. Check the locker screen to see if additional lockers contain your items.
  2. Verify in your account that missing holds are marked as Ready for Pickup at SMF-MNLCKR.
  3. If your hold wasn’t placed for the book locker, it may be available inside the library on the hold shelves.
  4. If you still can’t locate your items, call the Circulation Department at (330) 688-3295 ext. 3 during library hours.

Can I extend my book locker holds?
No, book locker holds expire after 7 days and cannot be extended. Expired holds are removed from the lockers.

Why does my hold show as available in the library instead of the locker?
Large or oversized items may require a different pickup location. The library will try to notify you of any changes, but if you have concerns, please contact us.

What else should I know about using a book locker?

  • Lockers are for pickups only - not returns.
  • Because there are a limited number of lockers, it may take longer for your hold to become available. If you need an item quickly, request an in-library pickup.
  • You may need to update your account preferences to enable locker pickup when placing holds through the online catalog.
